Frequently Asked Questions

u

When should I start planning for VFX?

At the start of a project. It's important to know whether or not the effects or 3D elements can be slotted into the budget. VFX can most of the time be added afterwards but can cost a lot more depending unforseen complexities during shooting.

u

Should I have a VFX Supervisor?

Yes, If its a super complex shoot and you plan to have more than five VFX shots its a must. This ensures the camera department captures any technical material required to make the CG process less complex, time-consuming and as a result more cost-effective. If it's a EMAGIC VFX Supervisor, we will be on hand to capture Measurments, Reference, HDRi Maps, textures, plates, and any other bits that may be useful for clean-up teams.

u

How much money do I need for 3D?

This depends on the project, but the simplest 3D project we have ever done was £800. But they can certainly get complex depending on your needs.

u

I have a film / video already, can you help?

For years Films where shot on RED and Arri combined as RED had better resolution for cutting out greenscreens and reframing but the Arri's had better colour and a better overall feeling image.
